Several clubs in the Northeast Regional Football League are apparently affected by attempted match-fixing: On Wednesday, FC Carl Zeiss Jena announced that some players had approached the club.
They reported messages "in brittle German" on their private Instagram accounts, in which they were promised sums of money.
"Today we informed the association as well as the police and are of course available for any queries," said managing director Chris Förster on Wednesday.
Last week Energie Cottbus made the dubious news public.
In addition, according to media reports, FC Eilenburg should also be affected.
All clubs have informed the responsible authorities and the NOFV association.
"We took this as an opportunity to speak to all players about this topic, to educate them and, above all, to raise awareness," said Förster.
"Large sums of money" for "a corresponding course"
Cottbus had informed the Brandenburg Football Association (FLB) about attempted match-fixing on Saturday.
Before the game in the second round of the state cup at the northeast upper division Ludwigsfelder SV, which Cottbus won 2-0, several energy players had been offered "high sums of money", the club had announced, in return for "a corresponding course" of the Game.
The players concerned reported the manipulation offers to the club, which then informed both the regional association and Ludwigsfelder FC.
Cottbus had announced that it would "provide the investigating authorities with all information on criminal prosecution."
