The German runners-up won the first leg in the qualifying duel against the French 3-2, in the second leg it was 1: 2 after 90 minutes, after extra time it was 2: 3, so there was a penalty shoot-out - with the better end for Wolfsburg.

Lena Oberdorf, Ewa Pajor and Sara Doorsoun converted the penalty for VfL.

Hoffenheim and FC Bayern also qualify

In the Bordeaux thriller, Pajor kept the Wolfsburgs on group phase course with their two hits (25/102), but Mickaella Cardia (119th) then promoted Girondins to penalties - there the hosts awarded three times in three attempts.

In addition to Wolfsburg, FC Bayern is also a German representative in the women's Champions League, and TSG Hoffenheim was also able to qualify as the third German selection for the premier class in the play-offs.

Starting this season, the competition will be held for the first time with a group stage with a total of 16 teams.
