Pelé was operated on Saturday for a "suspicious" tumor in the colon, discovered during routine examinations, and the announcement was made Monday by the Albert-Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo.
Entered on August 31, he was put in an intensive care unit, he has already reassured his supporters.
The hospital said yesterday, Wednesday, that there was nothing new, without specifying whether Pelé had left this intensive care unit.
Aged 80, the "King" has suffered for many years from health problems, undergoing numerous hospitalizations.
Last year, he also experienced severe depression due to the isolation caused by Covid-19.
