The public prosecutor's office accuses the former Bayern star and 2014 world champion of willful bodily harm.
The now 33-year-old is said to have injured an ex-girlfriend during a dispute on vacation.
Boateng appeared in the negotiating room in a dark blue suit and white shirt. According to his lawyer, he denies the allegations. This Thursday is the only scheduled day of negotiations. The verdict could therefore be pronounced during the day.
