2021-09-10T04:13:02.846Z

The former international has known everything at PSG. Favorite of the Parc des Princes as a player, he remains above all the only coach to have led

Luis Fernandez, 61, is one of the symbols of PSG before.

He was trained at the club, played there, coached it, returned as a coach and was a manager.

The former French international, on the bench during the only victory in the European Cup (the Coupe des Coupes in 1996), has a deep attachment to the Loges camp.

But the BeIN Sports consultant understands the choice of the capital club to move from Saint-Germain-en-Laye to Poissy (Yvelines).

Are you nostalgic for the scheduled departure for the summer of 2023 of PSG from Camp des Loges?

LUIS FERNANDEZ.

Yes and no.

Obviously it's weird to know that PSG will start from a mythical place.

This is where the PSG was made, that it was created with the support of the Péricard family.

But the fact of going to Poissy will allow him to take a step forward, to move into another dimension.

Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, all the big clubs have their centers.

Today, there are too many scattered entities all over Paris.

We all work better together, side by side, that makes things easier on a daily basis.

I salute the initiative of Qatar and I am in a hurry to be able to discover the site, even if I am following the file very closely and I have already seen all the models.

What are your memories of Camp des Loges?

When I got there, it was with Mustapha Dahleb, Carlos Bianchi and the late Jean-Pierre Adams who passed away recently, it was exceptional.

We were a bunch of friends, and we loved the place even if it had nothing to do with what it has become.

I will never forget the great moments spent there, it was strategic for PSG.

What did your coaching desk look like?

It was modest, we were on top of each other

(laughs)

.

We did with the means at hand, but we succeeded and won titles, it was a great time.

The women's team, the reigning French champion, will stay in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.

Do you understand it?

It's great for them. And that allows to keep a tie in this place marked forever by the PSG. Congratulations to the city of Saint-Germain-en-Laye which has always done everything to make our job easier.
