Leo Messi has achieved everything a footballer can dream of in a Barcelona uniform, except that at the national team level the Argentine star experiences mostly disappointments.
Tonight (Thursday-Friday) Messi recorded another milestone when he scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Bolivia and overtook Pele as he became the greatest South American national team scorer of all time with 79 goals in the Albiceleste uniform.
Messi, who experienced a tremendous outburst of emotion in the Copa America final against Brazil two months ago, celebrated the title after the game with his teammates and was unable to stop the tears of excitement.
In less than a year Messi faces the biggest challenge of all: the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and who knows, maybe he will still manage to achieve the coveted title of all towards the end of his career and make a mark on the title: the greatest footballer of all time.
