The Tampa Bay Buccaneers around superstar Tom Brady have made a successful start in the US professional league NFL.
The defending champion defeated the Dallas Cowboys in the opening game of the 102nd NFL season after a tough fight with 31:29 (21:16) and underlined his ambitions.
A 36-yard field goal from kicker Ryan Succop two seconds before the end decided the game in the Buccaneers' favor.
Brady, 44, showed his tremendous worth to Tampa at the start of his 22nd NFL season.
The quarterback threw four touchdown passes and brought 32 of his 50 passes to the man for a total of 379 yards of space.
However, Brady also made two interceptions.
“There's a lot to be improved,” said seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady afterwards. “Ryan got a big kick in the end and the defense made some really strong stops.
But we have to get back to work. "
With the Cowboys, who took the lead with a minute and a half to go, Dak Prescott put in a strong performance on his comeback from a serious ankle injury and threw three touchdown passes on an interception.
