- After Severin Müller came on in the cup game of his SV Heimstetten against TSV Buchbach on Tuesday, even knowledgeable fans of the regional league team rubbed their eyes in amazement. Because the young striker sprinted from the sideline not in the direction of the opponent's penalty area, but deep into his own half, where he then showed a respectable performance as a central defender.

"I've been training Sevi since the F-Jugend, and the most defensive thing he has ever played was the sixth position," said SVH coach Christoph Schmitt about the substitute defender after the final whistle. But due to his game intelligence, he trusted the 20-year-old to play the unfamiliar role, the coach said. In the back of his head he certainly had the home game against TSV Aubstadt on Friday at 7 p.m. Because the Heimstettners lack several defensive forces in this game, it could well be that the attacker will have to step in from the back row again - this time even from the start.

Because apart from newcomer Bernard Mwarome there is no second central defender. Yannick Günzel is sick; the same applies to Sandro Sengersdorf, who, according to Schmitt, would also be a candidate. In addition, the long-term injured Fabio Sabbagh is missing as well as the yellow-banned Valentin Micheli. "We currently have no alternatives in central defense," admits Schmitt. This may also be one of the reasons why the SVH defense, which has been firm to date, recently conceded eleven goals in four games - including four in the 1: 4 in the cup against Buchbach.

The coach demands that this defeat should now be ticked off with a view to Friday. "And the team has shown more than once this season that they can do that." In the league, there was recently a convincing 3-1 win over the bottom TSV Rain - incidentally, the same result that TSV Aubstadt had the same opponent on Tuesday in Cup defeated. In the league, on the other hand, the Lower Franconians have been waiting for a win for three games - although they are still five places and four points ahead of the SVH in the table.

“Aubstadt is a real house number,” warns Christoph Schmitt.

“It's a physically strong team that is very compact.” In addition, there are two strikers in ex-professional Christopher Bieber and Joshua Endres, both of whom have already scored four goals this season.

Keeping this duo in check could, among other things, be the task of Severin Müller - provided the trained striker actually makes his league debut as a central defender.
