Eching

- After two ascents in a row, the soccer players of TSV Eching have meanwhile arrived in the regional league.

There, the team of coach Jan Strehlow wants to establish itself.

The first step would be a good result on Saturday: The Zebras girls start the round at 4 p.m. with the away game at SV Saaldorf.

The Echinger team has strengthened itself before the season: New is - in addition to the former Ingolstadt players Isabell Gmelch and Naomi Koroma - the former B-Junior Bundesliga player Paula Theis.

Viktoria Schmidt (formerly FC Moosburg) and Elena Fischer, who previously played at TuS Harpen, have also joined the Echinger women.

Franziska Niklasch from her own youth moves up from the reserve team to the TSV team.

And there is also good news in the coaching staff: With Diego Puchta, there is a new assistant coach on the sidelines for the new season.

Meanwhile, you have to say goodbye to Patricia Seitz, who is moving back to her homeland in Hesse.

Significant increase in the field of athletics

In order to be able to withstand the level of the sixth German women's league - comparable to the national men's league - the TSV soccer players started preparing for the points round at the beginning of August with training three times a week. "Thanks to our fitness and endurance program, we are now positioned for the league", emphasizes Coach Strehlow, who was able to achieve a significant increase, especially in the field of athletics.

In order to be able to build on the successes of the previous season in a playful way, the zebras women played seven preparatory games.

A special highlight was the final meeting with the women from FC Augsburg, where they only just had to admit defeat 0: 1.

"The girls were able to show their qualities on the pitch against a very experienced opponent," reports coach Strehlow, who assumes that the players have what it takes for the regional league in terms of technology, tactics and running.

In addition, the team spirit and commitment are extremely high.

TSV Eching wants to establish itself in the BOL

The zebras are putting all these strengths to the test for the first time in the away game at SV Saaldorf.

Strehlow hopes "to be able to use the advantage of the newcomer in the league and to take home a counter".

In the long term, the Echingerinnen strive for a non-relegation place in order to establish themselves in the BOL.

However, it is much more important to finally be able to play football continuously again and to be able to contest the season without complications.

This is the only way to achieve performance-oriented women's football and expand the youth department.
