Ahmed Al-Shammaa crowned his love of weightlifting, which he practiced since childhood, to good results within its theater, which left a positive impact on specialists and those interested in this sport, which has become an integral part of his daily life.
In a statement to SANA’s sports reporter, 14-year-old Al-Shamaa explained that he started playing the game at the age of 9 under the supervision of coach Abdullah Iskandarani at the training center of the Promising Champion Project in Aleppo, indicating that his level began to develop successively, and he won the Best Player Cup and two golds at the Republic level for age groups in 2017, and the gold of the Republic Championship in Damascus in 2021.
Al-Shammaa indicated that he found pleasure in the sport of weightlifting, which increased his fitness and refined his personality, so he stuck to it in the presence of encouragement from his family, indicating that he continues his training without interruption with all strength and determination and aspires to represent the Syrian national team externally and raise the national flag in international forums.
In turn, the former coach of the national team, Abdullah Iskandarani, explained that Al-Shamaa started training in the promising champion project in 2017, within a scientific and studied plan, praising his remarkable performance, activity and commitment to training, pointing out at the same time that he has a spirit of competition and enjoys a good technical level and has not missed any conservative championship and has always been He achieved the first place, which bodes well for a promising future, along with other young players who were presented by the training center in Aleppo in the sport of weightlifting.
