The Colchoneros interrupted a streak of three unbeaten visits to Espanyol in the most dramatic way possible, in Antoine Griezmann's re-appearance since returning to the team. The Frenchman, who already had the winning goal the last time Atletico Madrid beat Espanyol away, started in the squad and completed 59 minutes without finding the net.
