The talent factory Borussia Dortmund can consider themselves lucky to have Erling Haaland in their ranks. The Norwegian is not only on the way to becoming the best center forward of his generation. As a media-effective alpha animal, he also draws the headlines so much that the other world-class talents of BVB can mature in peace. Gradually, however, another youngster is playing his way into the front row: Jude Bellingham, born in 2003, shapes the central midfield. Bellingham conquers balls, distributes them, chooses clever running paths and, as a goal scorer and preparer against Beşiktaş, collected his five and six points for the season. Where should a footballer grow who, at the age of 18, naturally excels in the premier class?

In the end, the result of Istanbul did not do justice to the course of the game, the 2: 1 (2: 0) had a lot to do with missed Dortmund chances and a never-minded Beşiktaş team.

Only at the beginning of the month Miralem Pjanić was on loan from FC Barcelona to the Turkish champions, while BVB coach Rose had warned of the Bosnian's abilities before the start of the game: Pjanić was “an outstanding footballer”, one had to “watch out for interface balls”. That often went well, but not always. The 1: 2 shortly before the end was prepared by the 31-year-old with a free-kick flank.
The second half:
At the beginning, Beşiktaş even managed to constrict BVB largely in their own half. The home side only lacked ideas around the penalty area, scoring opportunities arose especially when things got fast and hectic. In the duel between two good goalkeepers, Ersin against Bellingham and Kobel against Batshuayi were both on the post (67th). In the final phase, BVB seemed closer to 3-0. Ansgar Knauff only hit the crossbar (90th + 2) before Pjanić made his appearance via template for Javi Montero (90th + 4) - despite a proud seven minutes of stoppage time, it stayed with the following goal.

Stabilizer Hummels was no longer on the pitch at this point.
After 70 minutes it was over for the ailing captain, after patellar tendon problems the full length of the game seemed to be too much for the veteran.
Summer signing Donyell Malen, who is still waiting for his personal BVB knot to burst despite his committed performance, and match winner Bellingham were also allowed to call it a day earlier.
