We do not exaggerate when we describe the sport of body building as a popular sport, especially among the youth, because of its great importance in building a strong and graceful body that is resistant to diseases, which helped the spread of clubs in various governorates.
On the competitive level, the demand for this sport has been positively reflected in the tournaments organized by the Game Federation annually in various degrees. These tournaments often witness wide participation and strong competitions, in addition to the brilliance of our players in foreign tournaments.
To shed light on this sport, SANA’s sports representative met with the Secretary of the Game Federation, Samir Ismail, who said: “We are witnessing a great demand to play this game, often from the youth category, especially during the period of tournaments that have long enjoyed heavy participation, and our national team has its mark in foreign tournaments of the level The high enjoyed by our players, as our team had previously been ninth in the world in the tournament that was held in 2019 with the participation of 91 countries, despite our participation with 28 players, which is the lowest number among the participating teams.”
Ismail continued: "Our team participated in the International Diamond Cup, which was held last month in Lebanon, and it was the best evidence of the excellence of our players, as they won six golds, three silvers and five bronzes, despite their participation with only 14 players."
Ismail pointed out that the Syrian cadres are among the quality cadres locally and abroad. Arbitration in foreign tournaments is usually assigned to our cadres because of their confidence in the high performance of these cadres, and this trust places a double responsibility on our shoulders to develop the level continuously, explaining that he participated in the arbitration of the last Diamond Cup championship for long hours that reached to fifteen hours and his arbitration notes did not record any objection.
The Secretary of the Federation pointed out that preparations are heading for the establishment of the Beach Master Championship during the next few period, during which distinguished players will be selected, in addition to selection experiments that will be held later to choose the best players in the remaining categories of the game to participate with them in the Asian Championship in Lebanon, where nineteen players are scheduled to participate. .
Professionalism remains the most prominent goal for everyone who made their way in this game at the level of tournaments, as a number of the game’s champions expressed their willingness to contest more tournaments and compete for the first positions, especially since the Federation’s calendar is teeming with activities to reach their most prominent ambition, which is professionalism.
