Building Champions,

and has admitted that recovering from foot injuries is getting more and more complicated due to his age.

“I still have the illusion. I've been better, my foot is still a bit sore. It is a difficult time on a personal level, but I have the illusion of improving and facing a difficult process, painful at some point, but I have to go through to fight for what I want ”, explained the winner of 20 grand, like Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Due to the injury, the tennis player has missed some of the great sporting events of the year, such as the Wimbledon tournaments and the US Open, as well as the Tokyo Olympics.

Nadal said goodbye to this year's season on August 20 when he revealed that he had been suffering from a discomfort in his left foot for more than a year that prevents him from playing at his usual level. “What was not in the script was being lame today. The scripts are not to be followed to the letter. Fantastic things have happened to me in my career, better than I ever dreamed of, also complicated in terms of injuries, but there has always been a way to get ahead ”, the tennis player reflected during the event.

Due to his absence from recent major tournaments, Nadal has dropped from fifth to sixth in the ATP ranking of the world's best male tennis players, which was updated on Monday.

The list is headed by Novak Djokovic, with three majors this season, despite the loss in the US Open final against Danii Medvedev.

Nadal also spoke about the feeling of being beaten during this morning's presentation: “Tennis is a sport of defeats.

Only one wins each week.

You have to learn to live with defeats and victories.

It is a mentally difficult part to accept ”.
