With the first victory of the national league season, it came to nothing.

But the fans of AC Penzberg didn't care.

They cheered their team after the 24:24 against Kelheim anyway, also because they had made up for a disadvantage.

Penzberg - Your team hadn't won, but the AC Penzberg fans were absolutely thrilled.

They “celebrated the draw as if it had been a victory,” said Bernd Dürr, 2nd chairman, describing what happened after the 24:24 in the national league home fight against ATSV Kelheim.

Based on the sheer number of duels completed, the “Bayrisch Felser” actually won the comparison.

Out of twelve fights they won seven.

However, even before the competition, there is a big burden on the team.

Since the athletes' club couldn't muster a fighter in the 57 kilo class, eight points went to the guests without a fight.

But the Penzbergers made up for the disadvantage.

At the very end Daniel Horst (75 kilos / freestyle) showed strong nerves: In order to bring his team the draw, he had to get four points - the maximum of what a duel brings.

Horst did it confidently with a victory over the shoulders.

Ultimately, the guests were also satisfied.

Their press attendant, Stephan Hacker, spoke of a “well-deserved draw” for the former league club.

AC Penzberg: Seidler and Kramer each win twice

The first Penzberg success in front of around 70 visitors was recorded by Thomas Kramer: In the heavyweight division, he shouldered Daniel Ritter, who was 17 kilos heavier. Benedikt Gattinger (61 kilos / Greco-Roman) performed well, but lost on shoulders. A smaller result than hoped for, namely one point, went to Peter Vierke (98 kilos / GR). His "probably the most spectacular fight of his career", according to the AC, was delivered by Zadran Zarali (66 kilos / FS). The Penzberger gave - loudly cheered on by the audience - only two points. AC coach Clemens Seidler (86 kilos / FS), who won with technical superiority, didn't let anything burn. Martin Welk (75 kilos / GR) took the lead, then had some bad luck and had to give up three points. At the halfway point of the match, AC Penzberg was 9:13 behind.

The gap increased to eight points due to the empty starting place in the 57 kilo class. On Kramer (130 kilos / GR) was again reliable - he landed another shoulder win. Gattinger (61 kilos / FS) had an even stronger wrestler in the second round, which resulted in a defeat on shoulders. Seidler (98 kilos / FS) then forced his opponent onto his shoulders as a routine. Zarali (66 kilos) went to the mat full of euphoria. But he could not call up the performance from the first round in the Greco-Roman style and gave up three points. Alexander Horst (86 kilos / GR) got the same number of points with a fine performance. Before the last fight, Penzberg was still within striking distance of the guests.
