Lengdorf's player-coach is faced with a puzzle.
Lengdorf - Last season with six wins and one defeat at this point, after 15 games at the winter break in November 2019 even nine points ahead.
The lead over Langengeisling was lost in autumn 2020 in the four games before the final end of the season with three defeats, in a direct comparison one goal worse ended up in second place.
Now FC Lengdorf is still without a win with three points on the penultimate place in the table, which would mean direct relegation in the end.
What is different than last season, which seems so far away, we asked player-coach Gianfranco Soave.
“Actually nothing, or at least not much,” says the 39-year-old Italian, “only that I myself couldn't actively participate in the entire preparation for the season because of my knee”.
In the meantime he is playing again himself.
“When I had to get out against Kirchdorf shortly before the end, we were 1-0 up.
I thought I couldn't see right when we received two goals in the last five minutes, ”Soave remembers with horror.
"We train as always, the boys are also very good, even if some of them have to cut back a bit because of their job and house building, but there have been cases like this again and again in the years before," he puzzles.
With Felix Fischer, the captain and leader has been absent from the defense for the whole season. “He must have an operation,” says Soave, “just like Stefan Hitzlsperger”. The coach restricts the fact that the Buchbach returnees and defenders could not play even after his return during the Corona season. "After all, the young Simon Nussrainer has moved up into the back of the team, and so the failures shouldn't be used as the sole reason for the misery."
As far as the spectators are concerned, the Lengdorf coach is impressed, "because there are always a lot of them there, they create a good atmosphere, and that is what makes regional league football so awesome".
After the games, there is also a stop at the club, "you sit with the fans, and they can't blame the boys for a lot, except that they make a few more mistakes and miss too many chances to score."
The games that Soave turned to the three draws after falling behind have proven that the morale is right.
And how do you get out of there?
Soave is clear about what is definitely needed now: “Only a win will help, no matter how it comes about.
Now we have the second basement derby against Moosburg, and if you don't win games like this one or recently against Kirchdorf, then you have a relegation battle for the whole season. "
