Italy's record champions Juventus slipped to a relegation zone on matchday four of Serie A after they had to be content with a 1: 1 (1: 0) in the prestige duel with AC Milan despite leading.

The former serial champion has to wait for his first league win after saying goodbye to Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 29 goals last season.

Álvaro Morata scored in the fourth minute for Juventus before the ex-Frankfurt Ante Rebić (76th) equalized.

With only two points, the team of coach Massimiliano Allegri falls from 16th to 18th place in the table.

A total of 20 teams play in Serie A. Milan, which again had to do without the ailing Zlatan Ibrahimović, is second with ten points for the time being.

The new leader of the table is city rivals Inter Milan (10 points).

The defending champion won 6-1 (3-0) against FC Bologna on Saturday.

However, SSC Napoli can still overtake Inter on Monday (from 8.45 p.m.) with a win at Udinese Calcio.

The previous leader AS Roma lost 3-2 at Hellas Verona.
