A bus of Bordeaux supporters in an "ambush" in Montpellier

" and assured in a press release "

that all measures necessary will be taken to severely punish and ban these hooligans from the stadium

A bus of Bordeaux supporters was the victim of a real ambush on the part of Hérault supporters who were waiting for them at a roundabout, shortly after exiting the motorway

" at the entrance to Montpellier, a local police spokesperson told AFP, confirming information from L'Equipe. They had smoke, iron bars and cursed the passengers who got off the bus, the incident turning into a general brawl, police and the prefecture reported. The bus then left for its arrival point near the Mosson stadium, where firefighters took care of the injured. A first assessment reported 16 minor injuries, according to the emergency services. No arrests have taken place at this stage,further specifies the police who seek to identify the perpetrators.

After a season without an audience in the stadiums, violence between supporters has increased in Ligue 1 in recent weeks: overflows between supporters of Lens and Lille on Saturday in Lens, with invasion of the field;

another invasion of the field and general fight between players, supporters and members of the management during the Nice-Marseille clash on August 22, which had led to the final interruption of the meeting;

and incident already at the Mosson in Montpellier, against Marseille on August 8, for the first day of L1, with projectiles launched at Olympian players.
