An OM supporter who made the trip to support his team in Angers on Wednesday evening died overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in an accident on the A85 motorway.
The victim, a young man aged 23 according to France Bleu, was one of the passengers of a minibus which struck a truck from the rear near Mareuil-sur-Cher, in Loir-et-Cher, around 1:30 a.m.
Provence claims he was a member of the Fanatics group.
The precise circumstances of the collision are still unknown.
Traffic cut for more than three hours
Eight other people in the vehicle were also injured.
They were evacuated to the hospitals of Blois and Romorantin in relative urgency.
The firefighters intervened for more than three hours at the scene of the accident, completely cutting off traffic in the Tours-Vierzon direction until 4:50 a.m.
According to RMC Sport, the bus carrying the Marseille club stewards also stopped, but the latter were unable to help the victims trapped inside the vehicle.
OM and Angers separated in a draw (0-0) on Wednesday evening.
Incidents between Marseille and Angevin supporters were to be deplored after the end of the meeting, with in particular scenes of brawl at the edge of the lawn.
