The Red Star, traveling this Friday evening in Corsica to Bastia-Borgo for the 8th day of National, is still looking for a new coach after the dismissal of Vincent Bordot.
Habib Beye is continuing his interim which should end next week.
If a short-list has been established, a name emerges today, that of Mathieu Chabert.
According to our information, it would even be the top priority of President Patrice Haddad and the management of the Red Star.
Early Wednesday afternoon, Chabert, 42, was sacked, to everyone's surprise, from his job as coach of SC Bastia, current 18th in L2.
Arrived in Corsica in October 2019, he had allowed the club to regain professionalism with two climbs in two seasons, from N2 to L2.

Chabert perfectly matches the profile sought by the Red Star, namely a coach who knows the National perfectly.
He was also elected best coach of the National by the FFF last season and also has another rise in L2, with Béziers in 2017.
Since Wednesday and his eviction from Bastia, contacts have multiplied between the entourage of Mathieu Chabert and the Red Star.
The coach also spoke on the phone with Patrice Haddad.
Despite his disappointment and misunderstanding at the way he was landed from SC Bastia, Chabert would be ready to immediately dive back into another club.
He should quickly go to Paris to meet directly with the leaders of the Red Star.
