The European Club Association has opposed FIFA's proposal to hold the World Cup every two years.
And the association stated in a statement on its official website that it had followed with “great concern” the launch of (FIFA) a media campaign in order to try to hold the World Cup every two years instead of four years, noting that this proposal would have a direct and devastating impact on club football and endanger the health and well-being of players. It reduces the value and significance of club tournaments and will conflict with women's and youth tournaments.
