Syria's men's football team is preparing to complete the decisive role of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers through a local training camp that started yesterday in Al-Fayhaa Sports City in Damascus.

The initial training witnessed the commitment of the local players who were invited, Ibrahim Alama, Taha Moussa, Abdel Latif Naasan, Yazan Orabi, Amr Janiyat, Mohamed Sehyoni, Saad Ahmed, Amr Medani, Tamer Hajj Mohamed and Ali Al-Rina, while the player Mohamed Al-Waked submitted an official apology for his inability to join.

Our team opened the decisive round matches with its Iranian counterpart and lost to him 1-0, while he tied with his UAE counterpart in his second match in this round, and he will meet on the seventh of next month with the South Korea team and then face the Lebanon team on the twelfth of the same month.

Our team concludes the outbound trip in this role by facing the Iraqi team on the eleventh of next November, the sixteenth of which will be the date of the return trip, which concludes on the twenty-ninth of next March.

Our national team plays in the first group in the decisive round of qualifiers, and the second group includes the teams of Japan, Saudi Arabia, China, Oman, Australia and Vietnam.

The first and second teams from each group qualify directly for the 2022 World Cup, while the two third-placed teams in the Asian play-off meet to determine the team that qualifies for the world play-off.
