Thierry Laurey after the new defeat of Paris FC: "It is no longer possible to continue like that"

Beaten 4-1 in Niort on Friday during the 10th day of L2, Paris FC received a real lesson in realism and efficiency. His trainer Thie

10 shots including 5 on target, 4 goals for Niort… 23 shots including 9 on target and only one goal for Paris FC.

The statistics summarize well the incredible lesson of realism inflicted by Niort to Paris FC (4-1) on Friday evening.

The Parisians still messed up a lot and fell back to 6th place.

It is a Thierry Laurey, stunned by the scenario of the match and more disillusioned than angry, who presented himself at a press conference.

How do you analyze this defeat?

THIERRY LAUREY

.

I still wonder how we could have taken 4-1.

It's mind-boggling, really crazy stuff.

We have a little problem ... No, it's ironic.

It all becomes a very big problem.

It’s the first time I’ve seen this.

In my career, I have known times when you lost without being dangerous.

But losing like that, by creating yourself, so many opportunities, never.

If it happens once, you accept it.

But when it is repeated 3 times in our last 4 defeats, it's really sad.

How do you explain all these failures of your players in front of goal?

Is it a trust issue?

If I had the answer, don't you think I would have told my players about it first?

We are the L2 team that creates the most chances, but we only scored 13 goals and we are 6th.

Our efficiency ratio is lousy.

This shows the extent of the problem we currently have.

We have to manage to improve that.

I'm not going to go after my attackers exclusively.

But, the observation is that we do not have enough effective attackers.

We get tricked like children.

We have to be absolutely much more aggressive in front of goals.

Some people want to try pigeon wings, exteriors… I have nothing against pigeon wings and exteriors.

But at one point, that's enough.

It's not normal.

If we have to make choices, we will.

We have you, we saw you very angry during the match ...

Me, I found myself rather calm in the first half (smile)… Afterwards, it went up. We are necessarily enraged when we see that we have so much possession in the opposing camp and that we shoot so much without being able to score. I made changes at half-time. When you bring in players who run a little more, it makes things easier. I know I have boys who have pride and pride. I knew they were going to keep pushing. I remain convinced that if we had come back to 2-1, we could have reversed the score. The story of the match would have been different. Unfortunately, we take this 3rd goal which hurts us. We don't have a colander defense (sic) but we tripped over the carpet trying to come back too quickly. We can only blame ourselves. When you concede 4 goals and if you have to score 5 in each match,it will be complicated ...

You have castigated the calendar many times.

As against Sochaux, you missed your start to the match ...

We were in the 5th game in 13 days.

Obviously, it starts to weigh on the legs.

Niort knew how to press where it hurts.

We had a delay in ignition as in Sochaux.

Niort started the match with these two free kicks where we are not present and which hurt us a lot.

When you're down 2-0 after 15 minutes against a team playing low, it makes things more difficult.

But beware, I do not underestimate Niort's victory.

It makes sense.

We have nothing to say.

The podium moves away.

How do you see the rest?

It is no longer possible to continue like this.

We will go back to a normal week and then there will be the international break.

We will have time to work, and especially to rework the fundamentals.

We have to get back to the basics.

And as I said before, I hope we will manage to recruit one or two players.

Another striker is essential.
