2nd Bundesliga: FC St. Pauli wins the first away win at Karlsruher SC

Unfortunate afternoon for the previous leader SC Paderborn in a duel with Holstein Kiel.

At 1: 2 (1: 0), the hosts weakened themselves early on: Jamal Collins, who was cautioned early on for a tactical foul with a yellow card, wanted to steal a penalty with a swallow in the 27th minute and then saw yellow-red.

Outnumbered, Paderborn took the lead through Sven Michel (42nd minute), but suffered the next setback after the break: Jannis Heuer, who was substituted in for the second half, steered a shot from Kiel's Finn Porath into his own net (51st).

Joshua Mees turned the game around with a direct decrease after a corner (78th).

Kiel managed to break free in the first game after the resignation of coach Ole Werner and moved up to 14th place, Paderborn is now third.

FC St. Pauli won their first away win of the season at Karlsruher SC. After the 3-1 (2-0) success, coach Timo Schultz's team moved up one place from third. The guests received generous support from Karlsruhe on several occasions: KSC goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck pushed a Maximilian Dittgen cross into his own goal when he scored the opening goal (13th). Then Tim Breithaupt brought down opponent Daniel Kofi Kyereh in the penalty area, and Guido Burgstaller made it 2-0 (45th).

KSC pressed and had chances, but the third goal came for FC St. Pauli.

Jackson Irvine had put through beautifully to Burgstaller, whose cross pass Kyereh steered into the goal (58th).

Fabian Schleusener scored to 1: 3 (79.) After the eighth day of the match, the Hamburg team are one point behind the new front runner Jahn Regensburg, the KSC slips down to seventh place with twelve points.

At FC Ingolstadt, the worry lines are growing after almost a quarter of the season.

After the 1: 2 (1: 2) defeat against Fortuna Düsseldorf, the hosts remain the penultimate with four points in the table cellar.

André Hoffmann (57th) and Matthias Zimmermann (74th) scored for Fortuna, Fatih Kaya could only shorten stoppage time with a penalty (90th + 3).

Previously, visiting goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier had been expelled for a handball outside the penalty area (84th).
