Arsenal had zero points after three games, it seemed a bad season was ahead. But the mood has turned - also thanks to the impressive performance against the Spurs.

Arsenal have won the North London Derby in the Premier League.

Against Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners won surprisingly clearly: Already at the break it was 3-0 for the hosts, the final score was 3-1.

At the center of the Derby's success were two Arsenal talents: Emile Smith Rowe, 21, and Bukayo Saka, 20. The fast attacking players countered the Tottenham defense several times and brought these counterattacks to an end successfully.

  • Before the 1-0, Saka played a flat pass from the right into the box, where he found Smith Rowe, who defeated Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (12th minute).

  • Before the 2-0, Smith Rowe prepared the goal by playing a double one-two with the veteran on the Gunners offensive, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 32-year-old completed the counterattack (28th).

  • Before the 3-0 win, Arsenal won the ball in their own penalty area, again a counterattack brought a goal for the hosts, this time it was Saka who, with a bit of luck, prevailed against Eric Dier and the rushing back Harry Kane and scored.

Kane continues to run after his form

For the Spurs, Kane had a great chance to narrow it to 1: 3, but the captain and star player shot past the goal after a little more than an hour (63.).

It was also Kane who lost the ball in attack before the 3-0 draw.

The 28-year-old, who apparently wanted to force a move to Manchester City in the summer but was not sold by Spurs, is still looking for his form.

In the fifth Premier League game of the current season, England's international striker remained without a goal or template.

Last season, Kane scored 23 goals and 14 assists in 35 league appearances.

The Spurs goal was scored by Son Heung-min, who scored 1: 3, while Arsenal's Granit Xhaka was lying on the ground with a painful face: Tottenham's Lucas Moura had apparently accidentally fell on the Swiss ankle and had probably hit him badly.

Xhaka then had to be treated longer, then he was replaced.

Arsenal pulls past Tottenham

With the derby win, Arsenal achieved something that seemed unlikely at the beginning of this month: the team overtook Tottenham in the table.

Mikel Arteta's team started the league season with three defeats, goal difference: 0: 9.

At the same time, the Spurs were leading the table with nine points.

Since then, things have been going in opposite directions for both teams.

Arsenal won three times in a row and Tottenham under new coach Nuno Espírito Santo lost three times.

Both London clubs are currently unsure whether they will have a successful season - or a disappointing one.
