The youngest sailor (19 years old) in the Mini-Transat which will start from Les Sables d'Olonne on Monday, Basile Bourgnon will then join the Figaro Bénéteau circuit for three years.
Supported by his partner Edenred, Laurent's son (two-time winner of the Route du rhum, in particular, and disappeared at sea in 2015 during a dive), will be able to continue his apprenticeship on the Figaro circuit and the Solitaire du Figaro, which are so instructive.
He dreams of following in his father's wake, winner of the 1988 Solitaire, and of competing in the Vendée Globe 2028 in the longer term.
