Two days before that, both teams were in action against league competitors.

EC Peiting won the game at EA Schongau 5: 4, but coach Anton Saal was angry in two ways.

On the one hand, his team had lost a comfortable lead in the final phase, on the other hand, Marco Habermann retired from the ice early, after just 35 seconds, due to an injury after a knee check.

“You can't act like that,” said Saal annoyed.

His counterpart, Rainer Höfler, on the other hand, was satisfied: "We sold ourselves very well against a very strong opponent."

The duel in front of 630 spectators started with an excitement: Daniel Holzmann crashed into Habermann, who had to go off the ice with a knee injury. "But the pane was 30 centimeters behind the line," said EAS team manager Martin Resch.

In the middle section, Fabian Weyrich (30th) increased to 3-0 for the Peitinger, before Roman Tomanek (36th) scored the first EAS goal in the margin. Thomas Heger (38th) used the next Peitinger outnumbered game to make it 4-1. At that time, Daniel Blankenburg was in the "Mammoth" box.
