Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool FC mourn the deceased football legend Roger Hunt.
Nobody was so important in the history of the club.
Liverpool - The English football legend Roger Hunt passed away on Monday evening at the age of 83 after a long illness.
The former striker played for Liverpool * for over ten years and is a great club icon there.
As an English national player, he won the World Cup in his own country in 1966 and played in the final against Germany from the start.
In a statement on the club's website, Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp * commented on Hunt's death.
“This is really sad news.
our thoughts and our love go to his family. ”Unfortunately, it is currently too often that Liverpool FC have to say goodbye to their giants.
"Roger Hunt is at the top in his importance for the history of the club, that is clear," continues Klopp.
As a goalscorer who always helped his teammates, he would have fit perfectly into today's Liverpool team.

In the coming days, the "Reds" want to remember Hunt, honor him and pay tribute.
With Liverpool FC he won two English championships *, the FA Cup and scored a total of 285 goals in 492 games.
Only Ian Rush could net more often for the LFC.
When it comes to league goals, he's still the club's most successful goalscorer with 244 goals.
Under the legendary coach Bill Shankly, Hunt first made it to the top division with the club and then ensured the establishment in England's House of Lords and later for the big titles with his goals.
That puts him in the group of Liverpool legends who made the club what it is today, Klopp continues.
