Ten softball players from the Freising Grizzlies came up trumps with the Bayern team in the youth country comparison.
So they made up the majority of the winning team.
Freising
- Softball in the Free State, these are above all the Freising Grizzlies: Ten young players from the cathedral city were in the squad of the 15-strong Bavarian team, which has just secured the youth country cup.
At the end of September the U16 softball comparison took place in Ratingen - and there the Grizzlies athletes Emily Schertel, Judith Birkl, Zoe Wesselborg, Sarah Thürmer, Sarah Krüger, Laura Krüger, Elisabeth Buchwald, Laura Hart, Emily Hart and Rosalie Acbas were allowed to die Colors of your state represented at the encounters.
Team Bayern advance to the final unbeaten
Martina Dobler and Bella Lanzinger's team played in the preliminary rounds against the selection teams from Baden-Württemberg (later opponent in the final), Hesse, Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia.
The selection players presented themselves as a real unit in defense, which made it really difficult for the opponents to be successful when hitting.
The offense was also in a very good mood and experienced in base running.

Thus, Team Bayern entered the final undefeated.
Here the softball players met the team from Baden-Württemberg - and thus the previous year's winner, to whom they were defeated in the final at that time.
Bayern were aware that they should not underestimate this opponent, even if they had already defeated him in the preliminary round.
But anything can happen in a final - and so the Baden-Württemberg women came up with two points.
Bayern finished the first inning with a run.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
In the second section, the team initially equalized.
But the players from the neighboring state stayed on and took the lead again with two points in the third inning.
The Bavarian Defense continued to act as strong as a bear: Pitcher Elisabeth Buchwald was not impressed by the deficit and continued to do her job together with catcher Laura Krüger confidently.
Two Grizzlies players honored for their special achievements
After a pitcher change on the opponent's side, the Bavarian offense made it 5: 4 at the end of the fourth inning - that was the first lead.
Baden-Württemberg did not bring any runners to base in the fifth round either.
The selection from the Free State was completely different: The girls could not be stopped, so that the Mercy Rule was applied with another six points and the final went to the team from Bavaria with 11: 4.
At the awards ceremony, awards were again given to outstanding players - and two Grizzlies received an award: Laura Krüger received the Best Hitter Award and Elisabeth Buchwald the one for the most valuable female player (MVP) of the cup tournament.
