Tomorrow, the French magazine France Football will reveal the names of the 30 nominees for the Ballon d'Or award, which will be awarded on November 29, in addition to the nominees for the same award in the women's football category, the best goalkeeper award and the best under-21 player.
The list of 30 nominees for this prestigious award, which was not awarded last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, was chosen based on the votes of 180 journalists from around the world.
The last winner of the award was Argentine Lionel Messi, who won it for the sixth time in 2020, and is the favorite to win the seventh, ahead of Poland's Robert Lewandowski and Italian Jorginho.
The 20 nominees for the Women's Ballon d'Or, won by American Megan Rapinoe in its only edition so far, are chosen by a jury of 50 journalists specializing in women's football.
As for the Cuban award, which was won in its last edition by Dutchman Matthias de Ligt, the 10 nominees are determined by 32 previous Ballon d'Or winners, while the 10 nominees to win the award for best goalkeeper, succeeding Alison Becker, will be chosen by the same jury for the Men's Ballon d'Or.
