Tonight (Thursday), Maccabi Tel Aviv hosts the Red Star Belgrade in the second round of the Euroleague.

For the Yellows this is the second home game in a row, coming after the dramatic 68:69 victory in the opening round against Bayern Munich, having already been lagging towards the end and it looked like Sapropoulos' team would open the season with a loss.

On the other hand, the opponent lost 61:57 in the first round to Fenerbahce in Istanbul and hopes to show better offensive ability, when unlike the host - she opens the season with two away games.

At Maccabi Tel Aviv, French center Mathias Lasur has signed up and will receive his debut minutes from coach Yannis Sapropoulos.

As you may recall, the new signing landed in Israel this weekend and held his first training session with the team on Sunday.

Jake Cohen is the player the professional team chose to keep out of tonight's squad.

On the other hand, the Serbs will miss ex-Maccabi Tel Aviv, German center Mike Zirbes who is recovering from Corona, and also forward Aron White.

Quarter 1: The

host started the game in a slightly sleepy way and allowed the Serbs to go up to 0: 8, which caused Sapropolos to call a first timeout in less than three minutes.
