The storm in Brazil continues following the violent incident that occurred earlier this week in local football.
It all started when a referee was severely attacked during a game in the Gausho state league, during the game between Guarani and the Sao Paulo reserve team.
The 30-year-old footballer William Ribeiro decided to attack the referee of the game, Rodrigo Carribizaro, in a blatant and dangerous way, which endangered his life, and kicked him in the neck with force.
He is now charged with attempted murder, in light of the dangerous kick and the circumstances, an offense punishable by 12 to 30 years.

Even in Brazil, which is already used to violence in football, the incident was taken seriously.

The video shows Riviero dropping the referee on the lawn and immediately afterwards sending a powerful kick to his head, which caused him to lose consciousness.
Following this, the frightened players called for the medical staff, who gave the referee initial treatment on the lawn.
After a few minutes, he was taken by ambulance for further treatment to a hospital, where he regained consciousness but remained under observation, before being released after less than a day.
Immediately after the incident Riviero was arrested by a police team present at the stadium, and was taken for further investigation at a local police station.
He was interrogated for long hours and held in custody, but to the astonishment of many - he was released on bail after a few hours.
"He could have killed the referee," it was alleged in Brazil about the tragic incident.
The prosecutor claimed that this was a particularly dangerous offense in light of the fact that "he is a professional athlete, with strong strengths, and he took a very big risk when he decided to kick a man in the head ... he is much stronger than the average person, and the photos show he tried to kill him."
Of course the game was stopped following the incident after about an hour, when the local association had already announced that it would open an investigation into the case. "Our prayers with the referee of the game," Guarani responded to the incident. "Nothing, but nothing justifies violence." "What happened is very unfortunate," they responded in Sao Paulo. "Precisely on the day we were happy and celebrated, we have to deal with one of the worst violent incidents seen in Brazilian football. We are sorry and ashamed, and strengthen the referee and his family. The player's contract was allowed immediately, and in addition, we will take all possible measures against him."
As mentioned, in light of the agitated reactions from the incident, in Brazil it is claimed that the player will be charged with attempted murder. The local prosecutor also announced that he would fight as hard as he could to cancel the footballer's bail release, and would demand that he be kept in custody.
This was the 15th team in Ribeiro's career, and in Brazil they discovered and found that the player has a violent history both on and off the field: already as a youth player he attacked a referee, and in the past even beat the father of an opposing player.
He also had clashes with police: he was arrested three times for involvement in violent incidents, which included bodily injuries.
He refused to cooperate with the police investigation.
