Three days after equaling Motele Spiegler's record, Eran Zehavi scored his 33rd goal against Moldova tonight (Tuesday) against Moldova and officially and exclusively became its all-time top scorer.
A PSV Eindhoven player reached that amount in 69 international games, while Spiegler scored his 32 goals (the last was in May 1873 against Thailand) in 83 appearances.
Zehavi dedicated the goal to Spiegler, and recreated his celebration from the 1970 World Cup as he waved his hand up and walked on the grass in tribute to the former star.
Now Zehavi also wants to finish as the king of the World Cup qualifiers, with eight conquests in his balance and he is one goal behind Memphis Depay from the Netherlands.
Serbian Alexander Mitrovic is ranked third with seven goals.

The eight goals of the 34-year-old Zehavi are the record of an Israeli player in one campaign of the World Cup qualifiers, and he has a total of 10 goals in this framework, thus surpassing Tomer Hemed who scored nine.
As you may recall, in the Euro 2020 qualifiers, Zahavi scored 11 goals and finished alongside Cristiano Ronaldo as Harry Kane's deputy (12).
Zahavi's numbers on the team are amazing on every scale.
Since returning to the squad in September 2018, a year after the same incident in which he was booed by the Haifa crowd and threw the captain's armband in a loss to northern Macedonia, he has been punching nets non-stop and in his last 29 games he has scored no less than 27 goals.
Recall that before that he only had six goals.
