On Wednesday Bayern league team VfB Hallbergmoos pulled the rip cord and dismissed trainer Gedi Sugzda.
However, the club and the coach diverge in friendship.
Sports director Anselm Küchle found it anything but easy to release Sugzda after almost three years.
"Gedi is an excellent sportsman, a good coach and a wonderful person," says Küchle about the coach, who not only promoted the club because of its promotion to the Bayern League.
The heavy defeats in previous games and the second half on Sunday in Deisenhofen with a frightening self-abandonment of the team had solidified the impression that the team needed new impulses.

"It is my motto in life to never give up," said Gedi Sugzda on Wednesday after the release, but he reacted with understanding to the club's decision.
“Three of the last four games were bad,” says the ex-professional footballer, who is always honest, authentic and direct.
In view of the latest results, the club's move is not surprising for him - "because everyone is thinking about performances like the 1: 7 at TSV 1860 Munich II and the 0: 5 in Deisenhofen".

But Sugzda goes with his head held high: "I had two and a half good years in Hallbergmoos and now four bad months." It has been shown again that football teams get into great difficulties after promotion without major reinforcements.
"I got promoted four times with teams and then had enormous problems three times," says the 53-year-old, who is now only a teacher at the Munich soccer school.
He is currently not worried about whether he will train a men's or a youth team in the future.

"We have grown together and have always had an open relationship," explains VfB official Küchle. "But unfortunately the right key was not found." As a first measure, VfB Hallbergmoos decided that the currently injured co-player-coach Peter Beierkuhnlein (33) would be responsible for the extremely important duel between bottom of the table Hallbergmoos and penultimate Schwabmünchen on Friday will. Küchle promises him all support in preparing the team for the match against Schwabmünchen.
