Welsh international David Brooks announced his serious diagnosis on Instagram on Wednesday, and his club AFC Bournemouth reacted immediately.

Welsh international * David Brooks from English second division club AFC Bournemouth announced that he had cancer of the lymph gland.
The 24-year-old right winger reported the diagnosis on social media.

"I was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma," he wrote on Instagram.
Shortly afterwards, his association also informed the public about the professional's illness.
Brooks will begin treatment next week.
"While this is a shock to me and my family, the prognosis is positive and I am confident that I will fully recover and play again as soon as possible," said Brooks in his statement.

His association supports him in difficult times.
"We're going to give David all the time he needs to get well and we're going to do everything we can to help him," said Bournemouth boss Neill Blake.
“We don't set any deadlines for his return.
We will give David all the time he needs to get well and will do everything we can to help, ”he added.

Brooks was born in Manchester City * and joined Sheffield United when he was 17.
He came to Bournemouth in the summer of 2018, when the Cherries transferred 11.3 million euros to Sheffield.
The 24-year-old has since appeared in 91 games, including 39 in the Premier League *, scoring 18 goals and 12 assists.
Also this season he had scored three times in his nine games so far.

Brooks is one of the big names in the Welsh national team, its market value is estimated at an impressive 16 million euros.
