Summary: England - Hungary 1: 1 (Sport 1)

Gareth Southgate's attempt to play with Phil Puden, Jack Grilish and Mason Mount together in the squad was unsuccessful last night (Tuesday) when the England team settled for a 1-1 draw at home to Hungary.

The Three Lions team is still safely leading the ninth house of the World Cup qualifiers and will complete its promotion next month, but its balance at Wembley is no longer perfect.

Again a mess because of a racist remark.

As in the previous meeting, this time too the Hungarian fans were in focus and during the first 10 minutes of the game some of them attacked security guards and caused a commotion in the stands.

Police arrived to assist the security guards and one of them was injured and needed treatment.

After a few minutes, the security forces managed to bring order and the fan who lit the fire was stopped with racist shouts at a security guard.

"When the arrest was made, a riot broke out in the stands involving more fans," a police spokeswoman said.

"The order was restored in a short time and there were no further incidents."

Brakeman Tyrone Mings commented on the incident and said: "It is very difficult for me to speak freely about such incidents in which the police are involved. I am tired of these racist incidents. I hope this time the punishment will be commensurate with the act committed."

Equality scorer John Stones added: "It's unfortunate to hear about an event like this after the game. I have nothing good to say about fans like that, about people like that."

Did not like the spare.

Jack Grillish (Photo: Reuters)

One who looks particularly disappointed is Jack Grillish, who was the first substitute despite being the best of the English attacking players.

The Manchester City midfielder sat with his head bowed and did not hide his frustration with the Southgate decision.

Coach Gareth Southgate said at the end: "I knew Hungary could make it tactically difficult for us and all the credit goes to it. We did not play well enough and I do not think we showed the desired level. We will think about our balance and how we can improve as individuals. We made too many mistakes. "The simple ones, we were not sharp enough this time and we lost a lot of balls. We were below our level, after a long time it did not happen."

"You could say it's disappointing because we ended in a draw, but we controlled this game," concluded Declan Rice.

"We gave them a penalty as a gift, but we came back into the game and just couldn't get the decisive touch. Credit goes to Hungary, it was much better than in the previous game."
