The SpVgg had appealed against the valuation of the game because, in their opinion, the team had not recognized a clear hit. The district sports court rejected the protest.
Referee Sven Börmann had decided on goal kick in the 66th minute after a supposed hit by Stefan Neumaier - it would have been 1: 1, although the ball was presumably in the goal. Photographs also support this impression. However, the net was defective, which is why the ball did not wriggle in the mesh, but was behind the housing. The district sports court stated: "According to the rules, this is a factual decision."
The judges relied on the written statement of the referee, who did not want to see a goal.
“During the action in the 66th minute, no goal was visible from my position.
The ball went out after the shot, so I decided to kick. ”Strobel accepts the verdict, but he cannot approve it.
“In terms of fairness in sport, that's ultimately bad,” he says.
“This is where injustice is promoted.” However, he confuses two levels with his argumentation.
The trainer is concerned with "justice" and thus with an ethical category.
However, a sports court does not have to decide such situations in terms of justice, but according to the rules.
Ball apparently slipped through a hole in the net
A prominent example here is Stefan Kießling's phantom goal from the Bundesliga match between TSG Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen on October 18, 2013. Although all TV images clearly demonstrated that the ball from the outside net had entered the goal, the Federal Court ruled that the Factual decision by referee Felix Brych is irrevocable. This had recognized the alleged header hit by the Leverkusen striker.
Strobel would have liked "more courage" from the district sports court to pass a judgment in the sense of a replay. However, this would have set a precedent. In the future, every referee would have found himself before the sports court in the event of a controversial factual decision. Since such a judgment would have called into question the unassailable value of the factual decision, it would probably have been challenged by a higher court.
In addition, Strobel was bothered by the fact that the referee wrote in his statement of "holes in the goal net" that he noticed during the course control.
"It was just a hole," the trainer insisted.
That was also patched.
Only when the ominous shot on goal hit the ball elsewhere.
"Who has the courage and says: I made a mistake there." Strobel would have liked a word of apology.
In retrospect, it would not have changed anything about the decision.
