For three seasons in a row, FC Penzberg was at the fore in the District League South.

The present looks much less positive.

But now the trend reversal is to be heralded.

Penzberg - FC Penzberg played three seasons in a row in the district league south.

In the canceled 2020/21 Corona season, FCP only just missed the promotion as runner-up.

But that is the past, the present looks much less pleasant.

Last weekend, Penzberg suffered their fifth defeat in a row at 1: 3 on their own against Oberweikertshofen.

"We arrived in the relegation battle," admits FCP trainer Martin Wagner.

Most recently, the Penzbergers, who are currently in tenth place, had to deal with the issue of "relegation" in the 2016/17 season.

At that time, the club only succeeded in remaining in the district league in the relegation against Dornach.

No question about it: towards the end of the first half of the season, the pressure will increase and the trend must be reversed. This Sunday there is the possibility of a guest appearance at SV Aubing (2.30 p.m.), who, as seventh in the table, also fell short of expectations. The team from the Munich southwest was traded as a candidate for a front placement before the season. With the second best offensive in the league to date (33 goals), the Aubinger team certainly lived up to this claim. With Athanassios Savvas (8 goals), Max Heigl, Daniel Koch (both 7) and Aldin Bajramovic (6), a quartet stands out that is almost entirely responsible for this hit yield. Defensively, however, the Aubinger are susceptible, which is also reflected in four defeats and 21 goals against.

However, Penzberg's coach Wagner does not look at the statistics so much, the training impressions are more important to him. “There was really a lot going on, the mood is still good.” In any case, he has not yet recognized any negative effects of the series of defeats. In order to set additional stimuli, he will make a few adjustments against Aubing. However, he does not allow himself to look closely at the cards.

The only thing that is certain is that captain Maximilian Kalus, who last tried it again against Oberweikertshofen, will pause again.

With Andreas Schneeweiß, who left with a muscle injury, the use is just as questionable as with Durim Gjocaj.

“The team knows what it's about.

And I also make them responsible for getting everything out of the way in Aubing ”, Wagner is confident that his troops will“ knock over the buck, ”as he puts it, when he is seventh in the table.

The results of the past few years also suggest that this can succeed.

In none of the last five duels did his team go as a loser from the field.
