Football Bundesliga: Hamburger SV lost the lead against Fortuna Düsseldorf

2021-10-16T21:15:38.152Z

In the third league game in a row, Hamburger SV remained without a win, although Düsseldorf played more than 65 minutes undernumbered. That was also due to Khaled Narey, who could be an example of HSV's squad policy.

Hamburger SV played more than 65 minutes in the second division match against Fortuna Düsseldorf after Düsseldorf's Edgar Prib was thrown off the pitch for a serious foul (25th). Nevertheless, the HSV conceded the 1: 1 (1: 0) in the second half and did not get beyond a draw in the third game in a row. Róbert Boženík (71st minute) equalized the Hamburg lead by Glatzel (19th).

After HSV had already left points against Nuremberg and in Aue, Tim Walter's team also started the game weak against Düsseldorf. In the initial phase, Hamburg hardly had any chances, but a single action was enough to take the lead: After a cross from the left, Glatzel was lucky to receive the ball, turned around his opponent and hit the lead in the second contact (19th). .

HSV's prospects became even rosier after Prib got on the sidelines hard, when Prib hit his opponent Tim Leibold with his open sole on the calf.

Referee Christian Dingert initially pulled out the yellow card, but increased the penalty according to the video images (24th).

HSV subsequently pressed the preliminary decision, but had major problems with counter-protection.

Again and again, Düsseldorf became dangerous after switching actions via the fast Khaled Narey.

Narey, the Hamburg problem

The former Hamburg Narey not only posed problems for the HSV defense on Saturday evening, but also showed general problems of the club.

Narey is considered to be one of those highly talented players who could not fully exploit their potential in Hamburg and left the club to achieve top performances elsewhere.

Narey's three years at the club, which ended in the summer, were largely unlucky, so the whistles against him from the HSV fans were loud.

Since moving to Düsseldorf, he has been playing big: he had six goals and two assists before the game at the ex-club.

And Narey would be the decisive man.

When he ran up to HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes alone in the 59th minute and put aside, Jonas Meffert saved heroically from Rouwen Hennings.

Twelve minutes later, Narey brought the ball in front of the goal from the right, and Boženík poked the ball over the line via Felix Klaus' heel (71.).

That should also be the final result.
