There was an unusual dismissal in the first Northern Irish football league: Aaron McCarey, goalkeeper for Glentoran FC, was sent off the field with a red card in the 2-2 draw against Coleraine FC after an attack against his teammate. Defensive player Bobby Burns was first pushed to the ground by McCarey and then grabbed by the collar. Burns had previously lost the ball, which led to the equalizer for Coleraine in the 80th minute of the game.

A discussion should have taken place in the Glentoran cabin after the end of the game.

"Aaron held up his hands in the locker room and said this shouldn't have happened," said McCarey's trainer Mick McDermott.

“There is no quarrel among the players here.

We have a tight group here. ”McCarey also didn't get Burns in the face.

How long the former Wolverhampton Wanderers professional will be absent from his team after the curious red card was not yet certain on Sunday morning.
