That was anything but a tailor-made start to the season: In the 5-0 home defeat against Selb 1b, the Black Bears Freising left a lot of patchwork.

In the home game against Selb 1b, Freising's ice hackers were clearly defeated 0: 5.
In the first 15 minutes everything seemed to go according to plan: The home side had the target and opponents under control and sat down in front of the self-defense box.
The passes arrived and the first chances weren't long in coming.
But with the aim and the coolness there was still a huge problem: Most of the shots didn't hit the goal or came too centrally and were therefore no danger for guest keeper Radek Uhrin.
The problems for the Bears began when Moritz Lieb caught a 2 + 2-minute penalty and his colleagues Anton Münzhuber and Christian Birk joined them.
Selb used this outnumbered situation for a 1-0 lead by Fabian Bauer (15th).
After the third break, there wasn't much to see of the bears, which reminded of national league ice hockey. Much was piecemeal, seemed uncoordinated and erratic. In addition, the young Freising troop weakened themselves again and again through penalties and made serious mistakes. Selb only needed to take advantage of them to achieve a safe victory. Above all, Patrick Pfänder stood out: He grabbed another goal for the guests in the second third (26th) and served the template to 3-0 by Jonas Wich (43rd) in the final section during a majority. The 28-year-old striker then scored the 4: 0 (48th) himself before giving Timo Roos the 5: 0.
The best thing Freising managed to do in the first 60 minutes of this season were three crossbar and post shots by Luis Seibert and Christian Birk.
A disappointed sports director Gregor Tomasik had to admit after the game that the Bears missed the last bite.
