The captain of Maccabi Haifa, Neta Lavie, was ordered to rest eight weeks after the recurrence of the calf bone.

Lavi underwent a photo and was examined by the medical team after suffering a blow in the game against Hapoel Jerusalem in the area where he suffered a long injury.

Lavie felt severe pain and although he felt better yesterday, it was decided that he needed a rest (19:45, Sport4).

Lavi was injured after a sharp tackle by an opposing player in Maccabi Haifa's first game against Kirat Almaty in the Champions League qualifiers in July.

He was replaced after about a quarter of an hour and since then has had a hard time getting back to business in the shadow of the pain.

The Green captain partnered for 7 minutes against Feyenoord in mid-September, played 29 minutes against Hapoel Jerusalem on Saturday, but both times felt pain again.

On the side of the better news - Dolev Haziza signed a new contract with Maccabi Haifa today (Monday).

The connection was signed in the office of President Yaakov Shachar, on a 2024 contract with an option for another season.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who arrived from Bnei Yehuda two years ago and became a key player in the team, told the official website after the signing: "I am excited and happy to sign in a place that has become my second home."

The club's sporting director, Gal Alberman, added: "We are pleased with the extension of Dolev's contract and see him as a key figure in the future as well. We hope for joint successes and achievements along the way."

Back to the game against Slavia Prague.

Who might return to the squad is Muhammad Abu Fani.

The midfielder, who suffered a muscle tear, returned to training partially with his teammates and tomorrow will try to increase the pace of training.

"On Wednesday we will know for sure, but it is progressing very nicely," said a source in the group, "We all hope that Neta and Fanny will return to activity as soon as possible."

A firecracker suffering from abdominal muscle strain may start the game on Thursday on the bench.

Even before the game against Hapoel Jerusalem, there was a lot of deliberation, but in the end Haziza opened and played 60 minutes.

Noble Omar will open for sure after recovering from a minor injury in the game in which he was sent off against Hapoel Beer Sheva before the break.
