Barcelona is close to keeping its brilliant star Ansu Fati for a long time, who became the star of the first team after the departure of Argentine legend Lionel Messi.
According to the Catalan newspaper, “Sport”, the Barcelona administration agreed with the player to extend his contract until the summer of 2027 with an increase in his annual salary and a penalty clause in his contract worth one billion euros, which is the same as the value of the penalty clause in the contract of his colleague Pedri, who Barcelona announced last Thursday to renew his contract until a year 2026.
The striker’s contract expired on June 30, 2022, with an option to extend it for another two years, but the club’s management knew that Jorge Mendes, Fati’s agent, questioned the legitimacy of this clause in the contract that was signed when the player was a minor, so the club did not think about activating it, preferring to negotiate new decade.
