An electric match from start to finish.
Tuesday evening, the Metropolitano Stadium experienced a high level European shock.
The hosts finally won three goals to two against Liverpool, an infuriating defeat for the Colchoneros who had managed to equalize thanks to a brace from Griezmann before the Frenchman plunged his side with a dangerous gesture synonymous with a red card.
This defeat, which compromises the chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League, made Diego Simeone mad with rage. At the final whistle, the Argentinian technician simply extended his stride to take refuge in the locker room, all under the astonished gaze of his counterpart Jürgen Klopp who was advancing towards his bench. The Liverpool coach then ironically raised a thumb and then shook hands with a few Madrid players, before giving a lunar interview to Australian media Stan Sport. Asked about this evasion of El Cholo, he preferred to attack the journalist.
" I was angry ?
Is that so.
It's more your question that annoys me, ”he said before continuing, very agitated, as if the adrenaline had not yet settled.
“I wanted to shake his hand, he didn't want to.
I can understand that, he was running back to the locker room.
He's emotional, so am I and you're not a good person because you want to make a big deal out of it ”.

Diego Simeone told him that he did not appreciate this ritual at the end of the match.
“'I don't like to feel pressured to shake hands.
It is not healthy for the one who wins or for the one who loses.
I see it like that.
But now when I see him, I'll say hello to him without a problem, ”he said.

"I do not understand the football they play", had dropped Klopp before the match
Relations are historically fresh between these two charismatic figures of European football.
Before the meeting, Klopp had returned to the loss of the Reds against Atlético last year in the round of 16, also allowing himself a few remarks on the game proposed by his rival.
“I don't understand the football they play with the quality they have.
They could play good football but they remain low and proceed against, ”he lambasted.
Beware an angry Klopp 😡

Asked to say what he thought, Simeone contented himself with a simple "nothing" at a press conference.
Obviously, Simeone doesn't have much strength when it comes to Klopp.
Neither to answer him, nor to extend his hand to him.
Next episode on November 3, for the return leg at Anfield.
While Liverpool are currently clear in this group B with 9 points, Atlético scraps for 2nd place with FC Porto (4 points), who beat AC Milan (1-0).
