Ben Simmons and Philadelphia once again on a collision course: The wayward star summoned the coaching staff tonight (Friday) for talks including head coach Doc Rivers, informing them that at the moment, he is not "mentally ready" to return to the pitches and "show off his true ability".
Simmons also conveyed the message to the rest of the cast and to Joel Ambide, who publicly criticized his conduct in the affair.
As you may recall, Simmons demanded that the Sixers trade in four months ago, but the team is delaying and not in a hurry to comply with his request, mainly because the offers it received in return were not good enough for her.
Since Simmons has managed to declare that he will not play in the team uniform again, he has been forced to return, but is doing everything to force his way out.
Last week he trained with a cell phone in his pocket, and was then suspended from the team from the season-opening game against New Orleans.

Philadelphia had hoped Simmons would "straighten up" following the penalty and return to full activity, but has since missed more training sessions (among other things, claimed he suffered a back injury) and today conveyed the message that he does not intend to return to the pitches anytime soon.
Either way, Philadelphia intends to check its status again in the coming days.
Sixers general manager Daryl Murray made it clear on Tuesday that the team does not intend to rush to transfer Simmons in the trade, despite his requests and despite the interest from several teams, most notably Sacramento and Minnesota.
"Fasten your seat belts, because it's going to take a long time," Murray declared.
In all, Philadelphia fined Murray nearly $ 2 million for his proactive absence from Philly's four preseason games.
Of course he will also miss the team's next game against Brooklyn, tonight at 2:30 against Brooklyn.
