The Erding Gladiators and EHC Waldkraiburg delivered a top game at a high Bayernliga level on Friday evening.

The team of coach Thomas Vogl prevailed after 60 inspiring minutes with 8: 5 goals (1: 1, 4: 1, 2: 2).

Erding

- The Erdinger wanted to avoid a quick goal this time. But it only took 24 seconds for the puck to be in the Erdinger box after a shot by Michal Popelka. Sebastian Busch failed in the gladiators' break at EHC keeper Kevin Yeingst (3rd). But two minutes later Florian Zimmermann was through, crossed over to Marko Babic, and he made it 1: 1.

In the 12th minute, the Erdinger had turned the game. Florian Brenninger was on the penalty bench with the lions when Daniel Krzizok chased the puck to 2-1 next to the post (12th). But it only took two and a half minutes, then the Gladiators ran into a counterattack, which Philipp Lode completed to 2-2. Excitement in the 18th minute when Zimmermann received a bad check from Tim Ludwig - he received a five-minute penalty for it - and had to be treated. But the majority did not bring anything, not least because the gladiators also received a fine.

The middle third was just five minutes old when the guests were back in front: Felix Lode had dusted off. The Erdinger complained that their goalkeeper was disabled, but the hit counted. But just 90 seconds later Zimmermann made it 3: 3 in a power play. And five minutes later the gladiators were back in front. Mark Waldhausen closed an ingenious “no-look pass” from Krzizok to make it 4: 3. And less than two minutes later Zimmermann made it 5: 3 with a sensational individual performance. But that's still not it in a turbulent third. In the majority, Waldhausen thundered the target to 6: 3 under the crossbar (39th).

Waldkraiburg pushed the pace again in the final third, but was caught off guard after a good five minutes when Krzizok outwitted goalkeeper Yeingst to 7-3.

But the lions didn't give up, and Mathias Jeske shortened the two-man majority to 4: 7 (51st).

The Waldkraibug flash in the pan, however, was extinguished by Timo Borrmann with the 8: 4 (55th).

Tim Decker's 5: 8 14 seconds before the end was just cosmetic results.
