The ESC Geretsried will compete at the ESC Dorfen this Friday with three convalescents.
However, Michael Harrer is missing because of a broken rib.
Geretsried - Good news reached Rudi Sternkopf at the beginning of the week: "Three of my injured players are returning to training," said the coach of the Geretsried ice hockey team. The 54-year-old hopes that Ondrej Horvath (hand), Martin Köhler (nose) and Maximilian Hüsken (shoulder) will be ready for action again this Friday in the Bayern League match at ESC Dorfen (8 p.m.). That the convalescents are already full throttle is unlikely to be able to give: "On the one hand, the players are lagging behind in training, and on the other hand, they have to get their injury out of their heads first," explains Sternkopf.
In any case, the coach is happy to be able to offer three complete blocks again thanks to the returnees. Because not only is Florian Strobl still suffering from his adductor injury, now Michael Harrer has also been hit. "He broke a rib during the game in Klostersee and will be absent for about two weeks," says the ESC trainer.
Perhaps it is an advantage that the River Rats play in the penultimate table in Dorfen after their forced break (the Sunday game against Waldkraiburg was canceled by the guests due to corona).
According to Sternkopf, the fact that Franz Steer's troops have lost all three previous games should not tempt the ESC into arrogance: "With Peißenberg, Miesbach and Klostersee they only had strong opponents." And the River Rats know that it is always difficult in Dorfen not just since their defeat (6: 7 nV) from the previous year.
There is a reunion with David Hrazdira (26): The Czech striker, who played eleven games for Geretsried in 2020, is now on a puck hunt for the ice pirates.
The second contingent position is occupied by his 34-year-old compatriot Tomas Vrba.
