Chelsea score one goal after another without their star strikers

Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner missed Thomas Tuchel injured for the game against newly promoted Norwich. Apparently no problem for the Chelsea coach: the star striker didn't need it to make it 7-0.

The fact that money does not score goals is a football wisdom that hardly receives any attention in England: For the two top strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, Chelsea turned over more than 150 million euros in the past two transfer summers. In the Premier League game against Norwich City, however, it seemed that the team of coach Thomas Tuchel would find it even easier to score goals without the two stars in the lead.

The leader of the table won 7-0 (3-0) against the bottom of the table - without Lukaku and Werner, who were absent from the Champions League during the week after their injury-related substitutions.

And possibly also have to suspend the upcoming games: A use in the game against Southampton in the League Cup on Tuesday is not likely, after that one would see further, said Tuchel before the game against Norwich.

Against the newcomer, other players excelled in scoring goals;

First and foremost Mason Mount, who managed a hat trick (8th minute, 85th, 90th).

The other goals were scored by Callum Hudson-Odoi (18th), Reece James (42nd), Ben Chilwell (57th) and Norwich's Max Aarons with an own goal (62nd).

Norwich defender Ben Gibson also flew off the field with a yellow-red (65th).

With the 7-0 win, Norwich, which now has only two points after nine games, was still well served.

Goalkeeper Tim Krul prevented an even bigger defeat with some spectacular saves.

Krul even saved Mount's penalty to make it 6-0, but referee Andy Madley decided to repeat it with the help of the video evidence, because Krul had already left the line when the shot was taken.

Mount hit (85th) in the second attempt.
