So far things haven't been going as planned for EC Peiting at home.

In the derby on Sunday evening against EV Füssen there was now reason to cheer.

Peiting - Gordon Borberg was clearly wrong with his result tip, but that didn't matter. Because the Peitinger players met the basic requirements of their team manager. "We want the first home win," Borberg had said before the Oberliga derby against EV Füssen. In the end - for the first time this season - the ECP actually scored three points. Not 5: 3, as von Borberg had predicted, but at least 2: 1 (1: 0, 1: 1, 0: 0). In the end, Peiting had to fight hard, but the result is okay.

The 1-0 lead at the first third break was well deserved, albeit “a little too little”, as ECP striker Ty Morris said in an interview during the break. Because the Peitinger had not used several top-class opportunities. Manuel Bartsch had at least hit the net: After a back pass from Morris, the ECP defender slipped the target into the net (7th); Füssen's goalkeeper Benedikt Hötzinger was blocked by his own teammate Florian Simon.

As a result, however, the Peitinger failed to expand the lead.

Lukas Gohlke failed after a single action (12th).

After great combinations, Thomas Heger (14th) and Morris (16th) missed a hit.

Andreas Feuerecker's shot (17th) did not hit the target either.

Füssen almost managed to equalize: After negligence on the defensive, goalkeeper Florian Hechenrieder had to save against the free-standing Marco Deubler (19th).

Otherwise, the EVF had some offensive actions in the initial phase.

In an early power play, Maximilian Dropmann failed to Hechenrieder (2nd).

EC Peiting scores three points for the first time this season

In the second third the Füssen started with more momentum. The guests could now set more accents. The Peitinger initially had the greater opportunities through Gohlke and Nardo Nagtzaam (both 24th), who had bad luck in the end in quick succession. After a dangerous action in Füssen, initiated by 47-year-old EVF long-running Eric Nadeau, Nagtzaam hit the post in return (25th). After that, the Allgäu took over command for some time. At the best chance Vincent Wiedemann found his champion in Hechenrieder (31st). In the final phase of the middle section it was again the Peitinger who practiced usury with lost chances. Luck and a strongly reacting Hötzinger helped the Füsseners against Bartsch and Tim Rohrbach, among others. All of a sudden it was 1: 1,after Samuel Payeur had skillfully prevailed (39th). Bad luck for the ECP: Fabian Weyrich had previously been hit in the head, the referees let go. 31 seconds later, Peiting was back in front: Nagtzaam brought the puck out of the turn in front of the EVF goal - there it was deflected to make it 2-1. In the match report, Morris was listed as the shooter, possibly Heger was also the last ECP player with his bat.maybe it was Heger's turn as the last ECP player with his bat.maybe it was Heger's turn as the last ECP player with his bat.

In the final third, the duel developed into an exciting duel that actually had a derby character. It went back and forth on the ice, with the Füssen people firing the majority of shots. Once again, you could rely on Hechenrieder. He parried against Leon Dalldush as well as against Nicolas Jentsch and Dejan Vogl. Ten minutes before the end it was precarious: The ECP had to play undernumbered for a long time, 13 seconds even with two men less. The hosts survived the phase - as a result, Heger, Morris and Feuerecker gave them top-class opportunities within a few seconds. Then Peiting left a power play unused. So the final seconds - Füssen took the goalkeeper off the ice for a field player - again a defense and nerve battle. But then there was cheering.
