The corona virus is spreading more and more in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). After the numerous cases at the EHC Red Bull Munich and the Düsseldorfer EG, the Iserlohn Roosters team has now also gone into officially ordered corona quarantine or domestic isolation after a PCR test was positive and »numerous players already had symptoms of corona Disease «. The Roosters announced this on Sunday. The game at the Augsburg Panthers on Sunday evening will be canceled accordingly, a catch-up date will be decided in the next few days.
"In particular, the fact that there were no complaints after the game on Thursday evening and that we then had several players with symptoms on Saturday raised all the alarm bells," said the Roosters' sporting director, Christian Hommel, as quoted in the message.
"We have now seen in Munich and Düsseldorf how quickly it can go and are very happy that the appropriate measures have been taken."
On Thursday evening the team had won 5: 2 at the Grizzlys Wolfsburg.
In a rapid test on Saturday, two results were initially positive.
But one thing has proven to be false positive, it continues.
In the past few days, numerous corona infections had already occurred at the EHC Munich and the Düsseldorfer EG and had led to the game being postponed.
Both teams have been in quarantine since the middle of last week.
In the DEL, three of the seven planned games will be canceled on Sunday due to the corona.
